Other stuff

Outside of engineering, I enjoy reading, tennis, and the gym. Before I joined FRC in high school, I spent almost all of my free time playing tennis. During COVID, I decided that I'd never excelled in anything, or even put considerable effort towards something (bar fortnite mobile or minecraft), so tennis became my first pursuit of earned excellence. I captured a varsity singles spot freshman year, and was fairly decent for a player in western NC. I peaked the next year as first singles and team captain, before losing my time to robotics and walking my way back down the ladder.

With less obsession, I run casually with friends and practice low-budget astronomy using a telescope I repaired off craigslist. I ran my first half marathon in Spring 2025, and I'm still debating taking up astrophotography by purchasing a camera. On the trend of Asheville-inspired hobbies, I went backpacking for the first time in years recently; it was a great time minus the cold.

I used to read more, and I'm getting back into the habit. I've just finished Breakfast of Champions, most of the Dune series, and am getting through some recommendations from my dad's collection.

Like everyone else here, I'm a Duke fan, and you might catch me sleeping in the cold outside of Cameron.
